Holy Trinity Catholic Church Kileleshwa was founded on the basis of the first Small Christian Communities Some of the important steps taken were:
- Formation of the 1st SCC as a basis upon which the Church would be founded.
- Purchase of the two plots upon which the Church now stands;
- Charging the Development Committee of Consolata Church with overseeing the construction of the Church
The church was inaugurated as a parish by John Cardinal Njue, The Archbishop of Nairobi on June 3rd 2012, which was also the solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.
Mass Description All Masses are in English and the priest is available for Confessions 30 min before Mass
Brief History The idea to start a church in the Kileleshwa area was brought up in 1992 by the parish priest of the Consolata Shrine-Westlands Fr. Gioncarlo Rossi jointly with members of the Consolata Shrine and Kileleshwa Community in the area who were parishioners of Consolata Shrine. The idea stemmed from the fact that the population of Kileleshwa was growing fast thus a need for a church in the vicinity.
First Mass In August 1998, the first Mass was celebrated Under a Tree at 4.00 pm after a blessing of the grounds. After a while, the old house on the grounds was renovated and became a church of about 100 people. As the congregation grew larger, it was found necessary to pitch a tent on the grounds which were used as the church till the newer larger Church was completed and finally opened by his Grace Archbishop Mwana a' Nzeki in December 2000. It is from these humble beginnings that the Holy Trinity Kileleshwa Community grew in unity and appreciation of each other.
